Abu Ayyub Al-Anshary: Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s Shahaba who burried at Constantinople.

Today, we will discuss about one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba who burried at Constantinople, Byzantine Empire Capital State. He die when join expedition to Conquer Constantinople at Umayyad Dynasty Era. 

Abu Ayyub, has original name Khaleed Ibn Zayd Ibn Kulaib. He is resident of Medina, Saudi Arabia and originated from Tribe Of Najjar, one Jewish Tribe at Medina. He is part from Group Of Anshar ( Medina residents who helped Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam when he moved from Mecca to Medina). 

Because this, he get nickname Abu Ayyub Al-Anshary. At 24 September 622 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam moved from Mecca, Saudi Arabia,  to Medina. Residents Of Medina  greet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his followers with frienly greetings. Abu Ayyub,  was convert to Islam when Baiat Aqaba ( 620 AD), before Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam went to Medina.

Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam build mosque at Quba,  near Medina.  Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s camel stopped at one house that is house from Abu Ayyub. He stay at Abu Ayyub s house.

According Syrian Historian, DR.Abdurrahman Rafat Basya,  Abu Ayyub has two floor at his home. At 2 ND Floor, exist several rooms. Abu Ayyub ask Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam stay at 2 ND Floor. But, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam went stay at 1 ST Floor. 

Abu Ayyub and his wife sleep at 2 ND Floor. Until, one day, night is so cool and one vessel at 2 ND Floor broke and Abu Ayyub use his badcover for withhold this water. At this time, he and his wife only has one badcover. After this, Abu Ayyub ask Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam sleep at 2 ND Floor and Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam agree this. 

Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam stay at Abu Ayyub s house for 7 months. After building of Mosque Of Nabawi  at Medina finished . Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam moved to several rooms that served for him and his wifes at Mosque Of Nabawi, near house of Abu Ayyub Al-Anshari. 

One day, Abu Ayyub work at his palmfruit garden near his hoyse  and this time, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam came to Abu Ayyub s house and he call Abu Ayyub. 

Abu Ayyub hear this and he cut one bunch of palm for Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Abu Ayyub and his wife also cook bread and meat for Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. 

Abu Ayyub , join all battle for defend honour of Islam since Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam era until Caliph Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan, first caliph from Umayyad Dynasty era.

At 669 AD, Caliph Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan prepare army for besieged Constantinople, Byzantine Empire Capital that at this time, lead by Emperor Constantine IV ( ruled 668-685 AD). Umayyad Army, that being terrain way, lead by Fadhala Ibn Ubayd Al-Anshary and Yazid Ibn Muawiya.  Abu Ayyub at this time, was 80 years old. And, at this time, Abu Ayyub sick.  According Philip.K.Hitti, Abu Ayyub attacked by disentry. Battle broke beetwen Umayyad and Byzantine Army under Wall Of Constantinople. At this time, Abu Ayyub from his horse back attack Byzantines Army until many Byzantine Army escaped from the battle. With his sword, Abu Ayyub fight  againt Byzantines Army. Until, he die because his disease and burried near Wall Of Constantinople. 

According Historian Philip.K.Hitti, many Greek Christians came to Abu Ayyub tomb and ask rain every drought. And, at 1453 AD, when Conquest Of Constantinople by Ottoman Empire, Ottoman Empire build mosque above this tomb. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
