Hudhaifa Ibn Yaman, is one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba from City Of Mecca. He originated from Tribe Of Abs. His father, al-Yaman moved to Medina, because at Mecca, happened civil war at Tribe Of Abs. al-Yaman, stay at Medina and before Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam moved to Mecca, al-Yaman and his son, Hudhaifa , who born at Medina, convert to Islam. One day, Hudhaifa went to Mecca and meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. When Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam moved to Medina at 622 AD, Hudhaifa became one bestfriend for Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and he join all Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s battle, except for Battle Of Badr at 624 AD.
Hudhaifa doesnt join Battle Of Badr againt Pagan Quraish , because one day, Hudhaifa and his father, still outside Medina. Several Pagan Quraishs captured them and they get question from several Pagan Quraishs. Pagan Quraishs people ask them, where they want to go, and they ask are them want meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam?. They answer , they will go to Medina, and Pagan Quraishs people dont free them, except them promise to dont join fight againt Pagan Quraish at Battle Of Badr.
After this, Hudhaifa and al-Yaman free and they go to Medina and meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and tell that happened to them. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam ask them dont join Battle Of Badr, because their promise to Pagan Quraish. Because this, Hudhaifa and his father dont join Battle Of Badr. At Battle Of Uhud at 625 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s army can defeated by Pagan Quraish Army that lead by Abu Sufyan. Hudhaifa and his father join this battle. At this battle, al-Yaman die , when Muslims Army panic because Pagan Quraishs attack and one Muslim Warrior, accidentally kill al-Yaman with his sword.
At 627 AD, broke Battle Of Khandaq. Pagan Quraishs at Mecca, helped by Bedouins People and also Abbisinians Mercenaries. Medina, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s basic, besieged by enemy army. Hudhaifa Ibn Yaman, became spy from Muslims Army at this battle. At this time, Medina besieged , until many cowards from Muslims Army leave battle and only 300 warriors from Muslims Army. Happened tornado at this battle and situation is not easy. Hudhaifa can infiltrated to Pagan Quraish and their allies s camp. He get information, Pagan Quraish Army and their allies was retreat from Medina and he tell it to Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Muslims Army get victory at this battle.
Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam make Hudhaifa as his secret keeper. And, at Rashidun Caliphate Era, he became one commander at Rashidun Caliphate, such as Battle Of Nihavand againt Sassanid Empire Of Persia . Battle Of Nihavand, happened at 642 AD, at era of Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab , second caliph from Rashidun Caliphate. According Islamic Historian Ibn Kathir, at this battle, Persian Army bring 150.000 army and according Historian Hugh Kennedy, Muslims Army only bring 30.000 army under Numan Ibn Muqarrin. Battle broke and Numan die, Hudhaifa replaced Numan Ibn Muqarrin as Muslim Commander. And, battle win by Rashidun Army. Hudhaifa die at 656 AD, same year with die of Uthman Ibn Affan, third caliph from Rashidun Caliphate. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
