Story Of Thalha Ibn Ubaydilla: Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s Protector at Battle Of Uhud.

Today, we will discuss about Thalha Ibn Ubaydilla, one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam who protect Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam at Battle Of Uhud. Thalha, has complete name Thalha ibn Ubaydulla ibn Uthman ibn Kab Ibn Sad ibn Taim ibn Murrah ibn Kab  ibn Luay ibn Ghalib ibn Fihr ibn Malik ibn Nadhar ibn Kinana al-Qurashi at-Taymi al-Makki Abu Muhammad.  He born 10 years before Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam receive revelation as propeth. According Philip.K.Hitti, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu  Alaihi Wasallam receive his first revelation at 610 AD. And, maybe , Thalha born at 600 AD.

According Islamic Middle Age Historian, Imam Dhahabi, Thalha Ibn Ubaydilla is handsome man with brown skin and thick hair. He married Umm Kulthum, daughter from Caliph Abu Bakr as-Shidiq, first caliph from Rashidun Caliphate ( ruled 632-634 AD) and  has several childs, from them Yahya, Musa, and Isa. He also has daughter, her name is Aisha binti Thalha. Syrian Historian Abdurrahman Rafat Basya, tell, that Thalha convert to Islam when at his journey with Quraish Caravan for trade at City Of Bostra, Syria. At way, he meet one man who originated from Mecca.  Thalha ask question to one man about news of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, is he was revelated as propeth?. This man answer Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam  was revelated as propeth and after this event, Thalha went to Mecca and meet his closefriend, Abu Bakr as-Shididiq who became Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba. Abu Bakr inivited Thalha for hear Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s preach and Thalha convert to Islam.

Thalha s decide for convert to Islam and it is make Thalha tortured by his friends and family. One day, his friends parade Thalha at mount of Shafa and Marwa with bound hand and also hit Thalha. Thalha s mother, Shabah bintu al Hadhrami, who also at Shafa and Marwa, mocked herson.

Naufal Ibn Khuwaylid, one Quraish Hero, captured Thalha and Abu Bakr. He bound him with rob and given to several people at Mecca that tortured him. From this event, Thalha and Abu Bakr get title Al-Qarinain ( Arabic: twoclosefriends).

And, Thalha also join at Battle Of Uhud ( 625 AD) with Propeth Muhammad  Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam againt Pagan Quraish Army. At this battle, Pagan Quraish Army can forced Muslim Army.  At this battle, Muslims Army retreat and Pagan Quraish Army besieged Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Thalha and 12 Muslim Warriors from Anshar ( native from Medina) protect Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Thalha fight againt Pagan Quraish Warriors who besieged Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam until his fingers cutted and from this moment, Thalha get title Shahid al-Hayy ( the life martyr).

According Aisha bint Thalha, such as quoted by Imam Dhahabi, when Battle Of Uhud, Thalha protect Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam who suffered seriously injured until can achieve Mount Of Uhud.

Thalha also popular as generous man. One day, he get 700.000 dirham from his grandfather at Hadhramaut, Yemen. Thalha give alms with this assets until he only has 1000 dirham. Thalhah was narrated more than 38 Hadiths ( Islamic oral traditions fom Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Thalhah die at 656 AD, when Battle Of Jamal, one civil war at age of Caliph Ali Ibn Abi Thalib. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
