shahaba who became first Governor Of Damascus, Capital Of Syria and he is one
from 10 shahabas who get heaven guarantee from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu

His full name is
Said ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl ibn Abd Uzza ibn Riyah ibn Qurth ibn Razah ibn
Adiy ibn Kab ibn Luay ibn Ghalib al-Qurashi al-Adawy. He came from Tribe Of
Quraish at Mecca. He life at 7 TH Century. His father, Zayd ibn Amr is one man who
avoid Paganism at Mecca. He escaped to Syria . At Syria, Zayd seeing Judaism
and Christianity Religion. His plan is
find religion of Propeth Ibrahim Alaihissalam. Zayd meet one Syrian
priest and this priest tell him about one man will appear at Mecca and bring
Propeth Ibrahim Alaihissalam s religion. It is refer to Propeth Muhammad
Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
Zayd tried to
meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. And, at way, he killed
by a group of Jordanians from Maaifa,
Balqa ( now territories from Kingdom Of Jordan). His son, Said ibn Zayd, convert to Islam at
era of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. He married sister from
Caliph Umar ibn Khattab ( at this time not yet convert to Islam), Fathima bint
Khattab. Said and his wife convert to
Islam. It is make Umar angry and Umar bound them.
One day, when
Umar not yet convert to Islam, Said and his wife read Surah Thaha, one part
from Koran ( Islamic Holy Book) at their
house. Umar enteres this house and strangled Said. Umar also clapped Fathima
bint Khattab. But, after this, Umar ienterest for read Surah Thaha. He doing
ablution and read this surah. Umar convert to Islam after read Surah Thaha
verses 1-14.
Said join
Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam at many battles for Islam Honour , such as
Battle Of Badr ( 624 AD), Uhud (625 AD) , Khandaq (627 AD) , and Treatment Of
Hudaibiyya ( 628 AD). Said ibn Zayd narrated
Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s Hadiths ( oral tradition
from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) to several people, such
as Ibn Umar, Abu Thufayl, Amr ibn
Huraith, Zirr ibn Hubaish, Abu Uthman an-Nahdi, Urwa ibn Zubayr, and other. According Historian Imam Dhahabi, he was
narrated 48 Hadiths. 20 Hadiths from his narraton codificated by two most authoritative
Hadith Scholar, Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim. c He also get heaven guarantee
from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam . At era of Caliph Umar
ibn Khattab s Goverment ( 634-644 AD), Second Caliph from Rashidun Caliphate, he join
Conquest Of Damascus from Byzantine Army with Rashidun Army. This conquest, conquered
at 634 AD, first year from Caliph Umar s Goverment. Rashidun Army under
Commander Khalid ibn Walid besieged this
city and make Byzantina Garrisons at this city despair. They can entered city. According Syrian Historian, Ibn Kathir, at
this conquest, Rashidun Army used mangonels and war vehicles . After Rashidun
Army entered Damascus, happened peace covenant beetwen Rashidun Army and Peoples
Of Damascus. Damascus fall to Rashidun Caliphate. Said ibn Zayd appointed as Muslim Governor at
this place.
Said die because
constipation at 50 Hijriyya. He die when achieve 70 years old. May Allah Subhanahuwataala
bless him.
