Story Of Ashim ibn Thabit: His Body Protected By Allah Subhanahuwataala

Today, we will discuss about Ashim ibn Thabit, one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba who his body after die protected by Allah from Tribe Of Hudhail who will beheaded his head. It is one magic story during Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s battles. His full name is Ashim ibn Thabit ibn Abu Aqla al-Anshari. Anshar, is name for people of Medina who became Propeth Muhammad s followers when Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Dont many knowed about who Ashim and how his childhood. Important, he life at 7 TH Century and became Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba.  Ashim ibn Thabit, is one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s warrior  who fight at Battle Of Uhud 625 AD. This battle, is battle beetwen Muslims Army and Pagan Quraish Army. At this battle, Muslims Army defeated by Pagan Quraish Army. And, at this moment, Ashim, as one Muslim Warrior, can kill 3  siblings Pagan Quraish Warrior. From them Musafi, al-Julas, and Kilab. Their mother, Sulafa bint Saad, visited Uhud battlefield after the battle done and find Musafi, and Kilab   was die and al-Julas dying and Sulafa ask to al-Julas: “Who doing this? Al-Julas said: “Ashim ibn Thabit”.  Sulafa angry and she sworn  for doesnt stop his lament and roar until Ashim killed and he can use Ashim s head as grail to drink liquor.  Who can beheaded Ashim and give Ashim s head, he will give big gift.   Sulafa s husband, also die at this battle.

After Battle Of Uhud,  at 626 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam appointed Ashim as commander for one small batalyon that sended for became spy to Mecca, Pagan Quraish basic.This batalyon, according Imam Dhahabi, numbered 10 mens. Ashim and his army, can achieve Hadah, one place beetwen Usfan and Mecca.  And at this place, they attacked by Tribe Of Lahyan or also mentioned with Tribe Of Hudhail. This tribe became ally from Pagan Quraish at Mecca. They bring more or less 200 archers for attack Muslims Army. Ashim and his army hide at one small  hill for defend their self. Battle broke and Ashim die at this battle with his 7 warriors.

Other shahaba who join this army, Khubaib  ibn Adiy and Ibn Dathina, became prisoner and sell to Mecca, until Khubaib die at Mecca because execution from Pagan Quraish. For story of Khubaib ibn Adiy, you can access this article:

And, uniquely, before die, Ashim remember Sulafa s sworn and he pray to Allah for not permit one enemy touch his body.  Hudhail warriors  approach Ashim s body and want beheaded Ashim s head. When they do this,  bees attack them and  sting their faces. All their bodies stinged by bees. They tried wait night for behead Ashim. When night time, happened  heavy rain. Abduttahman Rafat Basya illustrated this situation , that this rain make hills flow the water. And, Ashim s body disappear. When dawn time, Hudhail Warriors want grab Ashim s body and the dont find Ashim s body.  According Abdurrahman Rafat, Allah keep Ashims body until Ashim s head dont became grail for drink liquor.
