Murad III: When Ottoman Military Destroyed Because Corruption

Today, we will discuss about Sultan Murad III, Ottoman Sultan who at his goverment time, Ottoman Military destroyed by corruption. How this corruption run at Ottoman Military and how it is make influence at Ottoman Military?. Murad III, is Ottoman Sultan who ruled 1574-1595 AD.  He , at his begin, is Ottoman Governor at Manisa He is son from Ottoman Sultan , Selim II. Age of Murad III s goverment, is degradation from Ottoman Military. Though this, Ottoman Empire still can doing several military action.

At 1577 AD, broke battle beetwen Ottoman and Shia-Safavid Dynasty of Iran. Lala Mustafa Pasha ,Ottoman Commander , forward and can captured several Safavid Dynasty s officers.

At his age, Ottoman Empire backed Sultanate of Fez, Morocco for faced Portuguese invasion. Sultan of Morocco, Sharif Sadi, lead Sultanate of Fez, Morocco  and active doing diplomatic relation with Kingdom of Spain. Kingdom of Spain weakened at this age. After age of Sharif Shadi, happened game of throne at Sultanate of Fez.  Next Sultan of Fez, Mevlay Mohammad, claimed by his uncle, Abd Malk. And, Abd Malik get support from Ottoman Empire.  Mevlay Mohammad, get support from Kingdom of Portugal under King Sebastian. Ottoman Empire, send Duke of Algeria, Ramazan Pasha to help Abd Malik.  Sebastian,  came for help Mevlay Mohammad with 80.000 army and 800 artilleries.  Ottoman Empire and Abd Malik s regime make coalition and broke Battle of Vadi Seyl at 1578 AD beetwen Ottoman-Abd Malik s coalition and Mevlay Mohammad-Portuguese Coalition.  Portuguese Army defeated at this time and Abd Malik, can officially beetwen Sultan of Fez. Unfortunately, Abd Malik doesnt life at long age after this victory.  After this, Ottoman s conflict with Safavid Dynasty nexted. At 1579 AD, Ottoman Army can occupied Tiflis and Shirvan. Revan conquered by Ottoman Empire at 1583 AD, and Ottoman Army can occupied Tabriz, Safavid Dynasty Capital at 1584 AD.  Abbas Mirza, became King of Iran and at this time, Sunni Muslims from Uzbek tried to attack Iran, At 1590 AD, Abbas make peace covenant with Ottoman Empire with terms submit Azerbaijan to Ottoman Empire. And, Safavid Empire also stop mocked several Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahabas who respected by Sunni Muslims. Such as Abu Bakr as-Shiddiq, Umar ibn Khattab, and Umm al-Mukminin Aisha.

At 1590 AD, happened covenant beetwen Ottoman Empire and Kingdom of Austria. And, battle broke beetwen Ottoman Empire and Kingdom of Austria at 1593 AD. One Ottoman Commander, Telli Hassan Pasha, die when attack  Austria. And, Ottoman Commander , Sinan Pasha get several victory at war againt Austria. Sinan Pasha get helped from Ottoman Ally, Gazi Giray, Khan of Crimea numbered 40.000 Crimean Cavalries. Emperor of Austria, Rudolf II, make alliance with Ruler of Eflak and Ruler of Erdel for defeat Ottoman Army. And, Ottoman Empire can annexed Capital of  Romania, Bucharest and Tirgovishte.  

According Islamic Research and Study Team of Egypt, Janissary ( Ottoman Elite Army) at Murad III s time, became robber and they rob at several Ottoman Cities. And, Janissary s quality also destroyed.

Before his die at 1595 AD, Sultan Murad III held celebration for his son, Mehmed III s circumstance. He call several entertainers , and entertainers who came at this celebration, ask to Murad III for became Janissary s members. Sultan Murad III received their request. Janissary Commander, Ferhad, retreat for his postion because protest. Next commander, Yusuf, doing Murad III s command. And, according Ottoman Historian Mehmet Maksudoglu, it is begin from corrupt age at Janissary Unite.  According Afghan Historian Tamim Ansary, also happened nepotism at Janissary Unite. Childrens from Janissary Warriors who fool and incompetent can next their father s carrier at Janissary Unite.
