one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba who became Early
Islamic Scholar and popular with his wisdom and simple. He is one shahaba who

Abu Darda, has original name Uwaymir ibn
Malik al-Khazraji. He originated from Medina and life at 7 TH Century and also .
And, originated from Tribe of Khazraj, one big Arabian Tribe at Medina, Saudi
Arabia, at this time. He is one pagan before convert to Islam. And, one day, at
624 AD, when Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his army return to Medina after won Battle of Badr
againt Pagan Quraish, Abu Darda ask to one Khazraj younger where his
bestfriend, Abdullah ibn Rawaha. This younger said that Abdullah ibn Rawaha was
comeback from Battle of Badr. And, important for know, Abdullah ibn Rawaha and
Abu Darda is best friend. But, after Abdullah ibn Rawaha convert to Islam,Abu
Darda avoid him.
Abdullah ibn Rawaha, patiently tried to
invited Abu Darda convert to Islam. And, Abu Darda reject for convert to Islam.
One day, Abu Darda work for managed his shop. Abdullah ibn Rawaha visit Abu
Darda s house and meet Umm Darda, wife from Abu Darda. Abdullah ibn Rawaha ask
permission for entered Abu Darda s house and entered this house with permission
from Umm Darda. And, at this house,
Abdullah ibn Rawaha destroy idol that worshipper by Abu Darda. It is make Umm
Darda angry. Abu Darda back to his house after finished work and meet Umm Darda
who cry at idol s room. Abu Darda angry,
but he think that if this idol good, he can defend himself. And,. After this, Abu Darda met Ibn Rawaha.
Ibn Rawaha invited Abu Darda meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
At this moment, Abu Darda convert to Islam. He used his time for many
studied about Islam,and consentrated to memorized Koran ( Islamic Holy Book). Until,
Abu Darda leave his bussiness for consent studied Islam and doing worship.
Until , he and his wife only has thin clothe that dont protect them from hot
and cold.
At era of goverment Caliph Umar ibn
Khattab, second caliph from Rashidun Caliphate ( ruled 634-644 AD), Abu Darda
appointed as Rashidun Governor at Syria. Abu Darda, went to Damascus, Capital
of Syria. He seeing Damascenes life at luxuryous. Abu Darda , entered Mosque of
Damascus and gather people. He advise him for became simple people. People at
mosque cry hear Abu Darda s lecturer.
And, at other day, Abu Darda walk at one
market at Damascus. He seeing several men hit one man and they mocked this man.
Abu Darda ask question to them why they hit this man. They answer this man is
sinmaker. Abu Darda ask them for dont hit and mock, and give good advice to
this man. Abu Darda give several advice to this man. This man repent after
seeing Abu Darda s wisdom. Several times later, Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan appointed
as Governor of Syria. Abu Darda still stay at Damascus for became preacher. He
became one Koran Teacher at Damascus.
One day, Caliph Umar visited house of Abu
Darda and seeing that Abu Darda doesnthas pillow, only shawl that folded and he
also doesnt lamp. His bed only several gravel. Caliph Umar, cry seeing
condition of Abu Darda s house.
Abu Darda die at 31 Hijriya, at City of
Damascus, Syria. May Allah Subhamahuwataala bless him.
