Story Of Abu Thalha: Archer Who Die at Solitude

Today, we will discuss about Abu Thalha, one shahaba who became archer at Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s era and die at solitude. He burried at one strange island when die at one sea battle at Rashidun Caliphate Era . Abu Thalha, life at 7 TH Century. He is one knight from Tribe of Najjar, one Tribe at Medina, Saudi Arabia. His original name is Zayd ibn Sahl al-Najjari and before convert to Islam, he is pagan. He is rich and nobleman. One day, one popular woman from Tribe of Najjar, Rumaisha bint Milhan al-Najjariya-aka Umm Sulaym leaved die by his husband. Abu Thalha went to Umm Sulaym  s house and at way, he meet Mushab ibn Umayr, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s preacher.  Mushab tell that Umm Sulaym was convert to Islam. Abu Thalha said to Mushab that Umm Sulaym s husband at past doesnt Muslim and also Pagan like him.

Abu Thalha reject for convert to Islam and he next journey to Umm Sulaym s house. At Umm Sulaym s house, also exist Anas, son from Umm Sulaym. Abu  Thalha applied Umm Sulaym. Umm Sulaym reject because Abu Thalha not yet convert to Islam . Umm Sulaym tell herself was convert to Islam. And, Umm Sulaym also give rhetorical question to Abu Thalha, about can Pagan Idols give benefit. At end, Umm Sulaym invited Abu Thalha for convert to Islam. Abu Thalha, convert to Islam and married with Umm Sulaym.

Until, at 620 AD, Abu Thalha join with several Medinan Civilians doing Baiat Aqaba-take oath of allegiance to Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. And, Abu Thalha also active with Islamic Struggle with Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam after propeth and his shahabas moved to Medina at 622 AD.

At 625 AD, happened Battle of Uhud, when Muslims Army forced by Pagan Quraish Army, Propeth Muhammad besieged by Pagan Quraish Army. Abu Thalha is one warrior who protect Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Propeth Muhammad and several shahabas defend with their bows. And, propeth injured at this battle. Abu Thalha, protect Propeth Muhammad with his bow. He protect Propeth Muhammad until his 3 bows broken. At this battle, Muslims Army defeated, but Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam saved.

Not only as fighter at battlefield, Abu Thalha also popular as generous man. He has palmfruits  and grapes  garden at Medina and ever endowment his garden to Muslim Community.  At 632 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam die.  Abu Thalha fasting continue after die of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam.  He only break fasting at two Islamic Celebration, Eid al-Fitri and Eid al-Adha.  Abu Thalha, according Syrian Historian Abdurrahman Rafat Basya, get long age. He die 30 years after die of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. It mean, he die at 662 AD.  Abdurrahman Rafat Basya, mentioned he die at one sea battle at age of Caliph Uthman ibn Affan, third caliph from Rashidun Caliphate ( ruled 644-656 AD). And, according Abdurrahman Rafat Basya, he burried at one island. But, Abdurrahman Rafat Basya said he die 30 years after die of Propeth Muhammad. It is the mean, at 662 AD, at age of Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, first caliph from Umayyad Caliphate s goverment. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
