Urwah Ibn Zubayr: Pioneer At Islamic Historiography.

Today, we will discuss about Urwah Ibn Zubayr, who popular as pioneer at Islamic Historiography. He also nephew from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and popular as one important Islamic Scholar at Umayyad Dynasty Era. Urwah Ibn Zubayr, born at 643 AD. His father is Zubayr Ibn Awwam and his mother is Asma binti Abu Bakr, sister from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s wife, Aisha binti Abu Bakr. He born 1 year before end from Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab s Goverment, Second Caliph from Rashidun Caliphate. 

Urwah Ibn Zubayr, since his childhood, popular as diligent younger. He visit Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahabas s houses for studied Islam. He studied from several Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahabas, such as Abdurrahman Ibn Auf, Zaid Ibn Thabit,  Ali Ibn Abi Thalib, Abu Hurayra, Abdullah Ibn Abbas , Usama Ibn Zaid, and Numan Ibn Bashir. He also studied from his aunt, Aisha binti Abu Bakr. 

He became one of 7 prime scholars at Medina, Saudi Arabia. He became Islamic Teacher and many state officers ask his advise.  He also popular as generous man.  He has most  broad palm garden at Medina and every  harvest time, he permit people enetered his garden for  take palmfruits. 

According Syrian Historian DR. Abdurrahman Rafat Basya , Urwah combinated knowledge and worship. Every day, Urwah fasted at noon time and at night, he doing night praying. He also read  quarter of Koran (Islamic Holy Book) every day. Urwah also popular as forgiver man. 

Umayyad Caliphate, recruited Urwah Ibn Zubayr and Ibn Shihab Az-Zuhri for write about biography of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and it is first internal written Islamic History Source.  His work about Biography of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, titled Al-Maghazi Rasul, that tell about biography of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and foccuss at Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s wars. 

But, one day, Urwah get disaster. When he visit Al-Walid Ibn Abdul Malik, sixth caliph from Umayyad Caliphate at Damascus, Syria that at this time, became Capital Of Umayyad Damascus. At this time, Urwah s son visit Al-Walid s stable and one horse at stable kick Urwah s son, until Urwah s son die. And, not long after this,  One Urwah s leg get disease from tumor and Caliph Al-Walid In Abdul Malik ask several doctors to help Urwah. They cannot heal Urwah from his disease, except amputated his leg that attacked by disease. One surgeon who came advise Urwah drink liquor for erased pain. Urwah rejected it and Urwah said he enough with read dzikir and tasbih that he read when operation. Surgeon cut Urwah s leg that attacked by disease and Urwah s scar  dipped to hot fuel. Urwah fainted at this day 

Even he became disable, Urwah still preach for invited Muslim for doing goodness. He foccuss at Islamic Education for childrens. He also motivated his childrens for totality at study. Urwah Ibn Zubayr die at 712 AD. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
