Jalal Addin Rumi who still descedant from Abu Bakr As-Shidiq, one Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba from his father and descedant from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s son in law, Ali Ibn Abi Thalib, from his mother, born at Balkh, Afghanistan at 1207 AD. He is son from one big scholar, Baha Addin Walad, who popular as Islamic Teolog and one Islamic big teacher at this time and Mumina Khatun. When Mongols Army under Genghis Khan expand Afghanistan at 1220 AD, Mongols Army doing slaughtered and genocyde at Afghanistan . According Afghan Historian Tamim Ansary, Mongols Army slaughtered 1.747.0000-2.400.000 people. Until, Baha Addin and his family, included Rumi, who still child at this time, migrated to Anatolia, now part from Republic Of Turkey, that at this time, called by Rum.
Because this, Jalal Addin popular with title Jalal Addin Rumi ( Jalal Addin Of Rum) . But, according Ansary, at Afghanistan, he still popular with title Jalal Addin I Balkhi ( Jalal Addin Of Balkh).
Baha Ad-Din, appointed by Seljuq Sultan that have capital at Konya, Anatolia , Ala Addin Kay Kobad II, to became state adviser. Baha Addin, founded his school at Konya. And, after Baha Addin s die, he replaced by Burhan Addin Tirmidhi as school owner.
Since his child, Rumi studied Islamic Knowledge and he can became expert at Arabic Language, Koran ( Islamic Holy Book), philosophy, teology, and other Islamic Knowledge. He studied Islam to his father, after his father s die to Burhan Addin At-Tirmidhi and also Shaykh Shamsu Tabriz. Rumi studied at Syria, and after this, became teacher at his father s school.
Baha Addin , founded school at Anatolia and Rumi became one teacher at this school after his father s die . According Tamim Ansary, Rumi and Shamsu Tabriz s first meeting colored by freak story.
One day, when Rumi teach at his class, one beggar came to his class and sit at behind. He sing until disturb lesson at this day and Rumi s students tried to out this beggar and Rumi ask they stopped.
After this, Rumi close his book, remove his scholar mantle. He remove class with Shams At-Tabriz and said to his students: “My days for teach was finish, it is my teacher” . Since this day, Rumi leave his job as scholar who teach at his father s school. And Rumi collab with Shamsu Tabriz for write poem.
Rumi write several literature book, from their are Book Of Matsnawi, Rubaiyat, and Fihi Ma Fihi. He became one important figure at Sufism. Rumi also has good relation with Erthugul Beg , ancestor from Ottoman Empire and father from Osman I, Founder Of Ottoman Empire.
One day, Erthugul visited Rumi at Rumi s house at City Of Konya, Turkey. They talk about relation beetwen Seljuq Sultan, Ala Ad-Din II, and Shaykh Qalandari. Rumi said: “If sultan was find father from himself ( the shaykh), we find a son”.
Rumi build Order Of Maulawiya, one Sufism Order that have special movement, member from this order dance round to round accompanied by flute and drum.
At 672 H, Rumi die. And, after his die, Maulawi Order continued flow from age to age. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless him.
