Sayyid Qutb, born at 1906 AD, at Village Of Musha, Egypt. His father is al-Hajj Qutb Ibrahim. He memorized Koran at 13 years old and entered University Of Darul Ulum, Cairo. Qutb, work at Egypt Ministry. At 1930 AD, Qutb write several fictions,literatures, and also poet. At 1948 AD, Qutb studied Western Education at USA . At 1950 AD, Sayyid Qutb visited several European States, such as Great Britain, Swiss, and Italy.
And, at 1953 AD, Qutb join with Organization Ikhwanul Muslimin and he became letter editor. Qutb, popular with his book, Maalim fi at at-Thariq. According Historian Asad Said Ali, this book claim groups that must fighted at Islam, included Jewish, Christiant, and also Muslims who dont practiced Islamic Sharia ( Islamic Laws) at their country. According Qutb, they are “Jahili” Societies that must fighted by power.
At Maalim fi at-Thariq, Qutb write Jihad ( fighting struggle) is priority and obligation. Muslims must fight againt Jewish, Christiant, Communits, and other Muslims who dont practise Islamic Sharia, according Qutb s mind. According Qutb s mind, Muslims lost their glory because they entered to Islam external mind, such as Greek Philosophy and logica.
Sayyid Qutb, also has relation with Egyptian Historian , Abbas Mahmoud al-Aqqad. According Writter Muhammad Rafi, Qutb meet Abbas Mahmoud al-Aqqad and this meeting make Qutb know Party Of Wafd, one Secular Party at Egypt. But, Qutb dont follow secular ideology. He make his ideology, that basics on “Jihad” againt different communities.
According Historian Ahmet.T.Kuru, Qutb take his ideas from two scholar at Middle Age, Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyya and Ibn Taimiyya, who life at 13 TH Century when Mongols invaded Islamic World. Ibn Taimiyya and Ibn Qayyim, has sight that Mongols Dynasty at Middle East, Ilkhanid Dynasty are infidels, though they was convert to Islam, because they dont practise Islamic Sharia as state law. Ibn Taimiyya, support Jihad againt Ilkhanate Dynasty.
`At 1945-1955 AD, Qutb captured and entered to jail because he accused join at Gamal Abd Nasseer, Egypt Leader after British Colonization s assasination. At jail, he write his masterpiece, Tafsir fi Zhilalil Quran. At this books, Qutb write Koran Interpretation according mean of Koranic( Islamic Holy Book) Verses and also Hadiths ( Islamic Oran Traditions from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam ). Fi Zhilalil Quran, is Sayyid Qutb s written that next before works, al-Taswir al-Fanni and Masyahid al-Qiyama. According Muhammad Rafi, Qutb was write 24 books and 30 books not published because destroyed by states. At 1966 AD, he punished by die punishment because accused tried rebel to Egypt Goverment.
