Story Of Imam Abu Daud: Hadith Imam after Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim.

Today, we will discuss about Imam Abu Daud, one Hadith ( Islamic Oral Tradition from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) Imam that his book became main refrences of Hadith at Islamic Study, after Shahih Bukhari and Shahih Muslim. He is one scholar who originated from Iran and was write 500.000 Hadiths and write Hadihs Book Sunan Abu Daud. Imam Abu Daud, has original name Sulayman Ibn Ashats Ibn Bashir Ibn Shadad Ibn Amr Ibn Imran. He born at 202 Hijriyya. And he originated from Sijjistan, that according Imam Dhahabi, is one territories at Indus.  He studied from many teachers. According Historian Imam Dhahabi, he studied to many scholars. At Mecca, he studied from Al-Qanabi  and Sulayman Ibn Harb. At Bashra, Iraq, he studied from several scholars, such as Muslim Ibn Ibrahim, Abdullah Ibn Raja,  and Abu Walid at-Thayalisi. At Khorasan, he studied to Ibn Rahawayh. And, at Homs, Syria, he studied to Yazid Ibn Abd Rabbih.

He also studied to one Madzhab Imam, Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal. He studied Fiqh to Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal . Imam Abu Daud assisted Imam Ahmad  Ibn Hanbal and  became one best student from Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.

According Imam Dhahabi, Imam Abu Daud also has several students. From them Abu Awanah al-Isfirani, Abu Bashar al Daulabi, and Muhammad Ibn Makhlad.  Imam Dhahabi also quoted several scholar s praise for  Imam Abu Daud. He quoted Ismail as-Shafar s praise to Imam Abu Daud. Ismail as-Shafar praise Abu Daud: “ Hadiths softened to Abu Daud like steel softened to Propeth Daud Alaihissalam. One Scholar, Abu Dasah, that also quoted by Imam Dhahabi, said that Abu Daud was write 500.000 Hadiths.  And, he choose 4.800 Hadiths for included to his book, Sunan Abu Daud.

One day, Abu Dawud doing maghrib prayer together with his maid and Amir Abu Ahmad al-Muwaffaq came to Abu Dawud.  Abu Ahmad al-Muwaffaq, talk to Imam Abu Dawud for make own council or teach Abbasid s caliph s childrens because they reject sit with ordinary peoples. Imam Abu Daud said that it is cannot doing because at front of knowledge, human s status are same.  After this, caliph s childrens studied at Imam Abu Daud s council with border with ordinary peoples who join this council.

According Historian Philip.K.Hitti, Imam Abu Daud s book, Sunan Abu Daud, is 3 RD Hadith Cannon book for Muslims after Shahih Bukhari and Shahih Muslim. According Philip.K.Hitti, Sunan Abu Daud contained pray from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Other Sunan Abu Daud, he also write several books, such as Al-Marasi and Risalah fi Wasfi Kitab as-Sunan.  According Imam Dhahabi, Imam Abu Daud also has unique habit. He wear clothe with one wide sleev and one narrow sleev. Wide sleev he used for bring his books.

Sunan Abu Daud, his book, not only Hadith Books. But, at this book, he alo write unique event that he see. Such as quoted by Imam Dhahabi, Imam Abu Daud said at Sunan, at Egypt, he seeing giant orange fruit and giant cucumber.  Imam Abu Daud, die at 888 AD, after make big works at Hadith Knowledge.
