FULL STORY: Chronology from Battle of Badr

Today, we will discuss about Battle of Badr, one big battle that influenced at Early Islamic History. People, know main battle from this conflict, Battle of Badr at 624 AD. But, Battle of Badr, happened for 3 times at time of Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam . How this chronologies? Please read this article until end for know about Battle of Badr s chronology. First Battle of Badr, happened at 624 AD, same with main battle. According Imam Dhahabi, at 624 AD, Medina was became basic from Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and Muslims, and at this moment, one Pagan Quraish soldier, Kurz ibn Jabir al-Fihri, attack farm animals at Medina. According Historian Juan Cole, Pagan Quraish doing action at Medina s territories for kidnapped Muslims or steal farm animals. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam tried to chase Kurz. And, Kurz can run from Medina.

Pagan Quraish Army, prepare attack expedition to Medina. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, prepared army for replied Pagan Quraish Army s attack.  According Imam Dhahabi, this army prepared by Propeth Muhammad for attack Pagan Quraish s caravan that lead by Abu Sufyan and still back from Syria. According Imam Dhahabi, Propeth Muhammad s army numbered 300 mens. Propeth Muhammad prepared ambush to Pagan Quraish s caravan. This caravan can back to Hijaz and Abu Sufyan ask helped from Pagan Quraish People for help him. Pagan Quraish Army, numbered 1000 mens under Abu Jahal , came for save Abu Sufyan s caravan. Propeth Muhammad s army and Pagan Quraish s army meet at Badr.

Juan Cole has interest argument about Propeth Muhammad s army.  According Juan Cole, Propeth Muhammad s army dont only consist for Muslims, they also helped by Christiant Tribe of Jafna and Medina Jewishs, because according Charter of Medina , Non Muslims at Medina also must defend Medina from outsider s attack. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his army can occupied Badr spring.  Hubab ibn Mundhir, one Propeth Muhammad s warrior, give idea Muslims Army should occupied spring that near Pagan Quraish Army and make pool that full by waters. With this, Muslims Army can block water supplies for Pagan Quraish Army and get supply water. Propeth Muhammad agree this.

At 624 AD, at 17 Ramadhan, fasting month for Muslims, broke main battle from Badr. Muslims Army and Pagan Quraish Army meet at Badr, and  Muslims Army was occupied Well of Badr and build pool that full by waters from Well of Badr. Battle started by duels beetwen Muslims and Pagan Quraish s champion. From Muslims side , forward Ali ibn Abi Thalib, Ubayda ibn Harith, and Hamza ibn Abd Mutthalib. From Pagan Quraish side, forward Utba ibn Rabia, Shayba ibn Rabia and Walid ibn Uqba. 3 Quraish s champions die and battle broke. Propeth Muhammad forbid his shahabas kill Quraish Warriors from his tribe, Tribe of Hashem, because they forced by Pagan Quraish for fight againt Muslims. Included Propeth Muhammad s uncle, al-Abbas, forced by Pagan Quraish for fight againt Muslims.  At this time, Abu Jahal as one main commander from Pagan Quraish killed. At this battle, Muslims Army achieved victory and only 14 mens from Muslims who die as martyr. From Pagan Quraish Army, die 70 mens.

And, last Battle of Badr happened 2 year after main Battle of Badr. It is happened at 626 AD.  Abu Sufyan lead big army  and challenge Propeth Muhammad and his army fight againt his army at Badr. Propeth Muhammad bring army to faced Abu Sufyan at Badr. And, when Propeth Muhammad and his army that consist of 1500 warriors on the way, Abu Sufyan and his army retreat. Propeth Muhammad and his army dont fight with Abu Sufyan s forces and they doing trade at Badr for 8 days and get many profit.
