Suraqa ibn Malik: Chased Propeth Muhammad when Moved to Medina, but Became Propeth Muhammad s Follower After this
Today,
we will discuss about Suraqa ibn Malik, one Pagan Cavalry who cased Propeth
Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam for
kill him when propeth moved to Medina at 622 AD, but convert to Islam because
impressed with Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s behavior.

Suraqa
ibn Malik, life at 7 TH Century and is man from Tribe of Mudlij. He is
cavalryman from his tribe. At 622 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam and his shahabas want moved to Medina from Mecca for avoid Pagan
Quraish s disturb. And, Pagan Quraish will chased Propeth Muhammad Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam for captured him. At this time, Propeth Muhammad was went
with one his closer shahaba, Abu Bakr as-Shiddiq. And, Pagan Quraish People make contest for
captured Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam . 100 camels became
reward for who want captured Propeth Muhammad.
And,
at this time, Suraqa sit at his tribe s council at Qudayd, near City of Mecca.
And, one Pagan Quraish messenger came to this council and tell about this
contest. Suraqa , want join this contest. He prepared his horse and his sword.
According Syrian Historian, Abdurrahman Rafat Basya, Suraqa is expert cavalry
at his tribe. He also has good body and has skill for search footsteps. And,
when seeing Propeth Muhammad, Abu Bakr, with their guide, Suraqa chased them
with his horse. And, his horse fall when run. Suraqa fall from his horse.
And,
he tried back to his horseback. And, his horse fall for 2 ND time. And, when
his horse fall for many times, until his horse drown at soil, Suraqa that at
this time meet Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and Abu Bakr,
ask helped with them and offer his weapon and also his supplies to Propeth
Muhammad and Abu Bakr. And, at this time, Propeth Muhammad and Abu Bakr help
Suraqa until his horse can out from
soil. Suraqa said that Propeth Muhammad s religion will win at one day.
Propeth
Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam ask Suraqa for repatriate people who cases Propeth Muhammad
and Abu Bakr. And, Suraqa also ask if Propeth Muhammad win and he came to him, Propeth Muhamad will honoured him. Propeth
Muhammad agree and ask Abu Bakr for write this
promise at one bone. And, give this bone to Suraqa.
Propeth
Muhammad also promise, one day, Suraqa want wear bracelet from Khosrau ( title
from King of Persia). And, after this, Suraqa back to Mecca and ask people who
search Propeth Muhammad and Abu Bakr for back. And, they back after heard Suraqa
s news that Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and Abu Bakr hard
to searched.
Until,
one day, at 630 AD, when Propeth Muhammad and his army conquer Pagan Quraish s
basic, Mecca, Suraqa came to Propeth Muhammad and convert to Islam. And, time
run into goverment age of Caliph Umar ibn Khattab, second caliph from Rashidun
Caliphate ( ruled 634-644 AD), Rashidun Caliphate can win conflict with
Sassanid Empire, and many loots that get by Rashidun Caliphate from this
confict. Rashidun Commander who lead
Rashidun Army to Persia, Saad ibn Abi Waqqash, came to Rashidun Caliphate
capital ,Medina and bring several loots to Caliph Umar. From this loots is Persian s king s clothe and
his accecories. At this time, Caliph Umar call Suraqa ibn Malik and ask him to
wear it. In front of Umar, Suraqa wear Persian kings s clothe , sword, Khosrau
s crown, complete with bracelet. And, Caliph Umar also split loots from
expedition to Persia. May Allah Subhanahuwataala bless them.
