Abu
Yazid al-Busthami ( or called by other Bayazid) is one Muslim Scholar who originated
from Persia. Name al-Busthami , originated
from his born place, Bustham that located at East Iran. And, he born at 874 AD.
According Imam Dhahabi, his grandfather, Abu Isa Adam ibn Isa, is adherent from
Zoroastrianism adherent who convert to Islam.
He has two brother, Adam and Ali.
His original name is Thayfur ibn Isa ibn Adam ibn Shurusyan.
Busthami,
born at rich family. His father is one society figure and his mother also pious
woman at this age. Busthami studied fiqh according Hanafi School from Abu Ali as-Shindi. Busthami also popular with his obey to his mother. Busthami also doing adventure for 13 years at
several deserts at Syria for train simple lifestyle.
From
his statement that quoted Imam Dhahabi,Abu Yazid said that he love find knowledge
, and he said, if not exist different of argument at scholars , he will confued.
Abu Yazid s life age, is age from rise of Sufism at Islamic History. When
Islamic World lead by Abbasid Caliphate that have capital at Baghdad, Iraq.
Sufism,
born at this age, at his begin, for opposed corruption and greed. They doing
more worship from other Muslims. Such as
Junayd at Baghdad who doing prayer for 400 rakaat ( count from prayer). And, many from them,
tried to train theirself at simpleness by method run the poorlife. And, several

Yazid, has own concept from Sufism. He

religion. His Sufism s princip, is Fana,
Baqa, and Ittihad.
Fana,
is
disconnect relation with other Allah and tried to emulate Allah s character. Baqa, is the
eternal from Allah s character at human s self. And, Ittihad, is when one
Sufi ( Sufism adherent) feel near with Allah Subhanahuwataala. And, Abu Yazid also doesnt write book. His
teaching, writing by his students at several books, such as Risalah al-Qusyairiyyah, Tabaqat as-Sufiyyah, and other.
According
Imam Dhahabi, Abu Yazid, though popular as Sufism Scholar, he reject superstion. Abu Yazid give advice,
for if seeing people with freak skills, such as can fly at air, dont feel impressed until seeing he is devout
